CONTEST WINNER
Bill Eaton of Southbury, CT.
WINNER
William (Bill) Eaton is an amateur woodworker who enjoys woodworking, remodeling and tinkering/fixing stuff outside of his full time job as Sr. Director of Packaging Research & Development at PepsiCo.
Mr. Eaton studied Architectural Engineering and Construction Management, graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston MA. Growing up in Milford CT Bill was always around people who worked with their hands and made it a point to watch and learn from many makers and crafts persons he met.
The table he built was from two separate sources of wood. The table base was made from red oak trees felled in his Southbury, CT backyard. The trees were then milled on a portable saw mill from a sawyer out of Guilford, CT. After drying for several years the wood was further milled into the table base and crafted with mortise and tenon joints and pinned with black walnut draw pins.
The table top was built from reclaimed chestnut acquired from Reworx and built with bread board ends, and assembled with mortise and tenon joinery using the same technique with draw pins.
This was one of Mr. Eaton's first large furniture builds after building a desk from reclaimed wood from his fathers old workbench.
Mr Eaton was super excited to be recognized in the Reworx contest and has asked to donate the $100 award to Southbury CT Food Bank on his behalf in lieu if the restaurant gift card.

Thanks Bill, we LOVE IT !
