This custom reclaimed wood dining table was designed for David Blackmon of Yale University in New Haven. Crafted from reclaimed Douglas Fir, the wood was sourced from the floor joists of the historic Otis Elevator Factory, embodying a rich blend of history and craftsmanship.

The design emphasizes the materials natural beauty, showcasing its grain and knots to honor its industrial heritage while infusing warmth and character. The table’s pedestal box construction not only enhances its structural integrity but also contributes to its functionality. Additionally, the innovative "floating” top construction enables the table to adjust naturally to changes in temperature and humidity throughout New England’s shifting seasons.
